How is your self esteem?
What do you really think of yourself?
Did you know that you are biased? Your view of yourself is shaped by your thoughts and beliefs. How you see yourself is not necessarily how other people see you.
If you dared to ask people you trust how they see you, and what they appreciate about you, you'd probably be surprised. I tried that a few months ago and was humbled by some of the responses. It inspired me to let go of some of my limiting beliefs and push out of my comfort zone.
How do you see yourself in relation to others?
How you see yourself affects how other people see you and influences every aspect of your life. How people see you affects how they relate to you. That's why it's important to work on having a healthy self esteem.
You can improve your self image
Start by
- Listing things you like about yourself
- Change negative thoughts to positive thoughts by focusing on the positive and dismiss the negative
- Remember good things people have said about you and note them down
- Make changes you think would help you to feel good about yourself - clothes, appearance, hair style, behaviour
- Take yourself less seriously and lighten up!
- Accept criticism in a constructive way, use it as a springboard to improve and develop
- Act as if - act differently- it will change how others see you and help to change your attitude towards yourself and your abilities
- Believe in yourself - you are only limited by your efforts and confidence

Now, think of ways to improve your self esteem. Make a plan. Fill your mind with thoughts of success and banish thoughts of failure. When you catch yourself saying 'I can't, stop and find a way of saying 'I can'.
Reach out and grasp the new confident you. Build your self esteem and become all that you can be.
