One of the bigest hurdles to change is what you tell yourself about things. I thought you might find this article by Luke Blaise helpful. It would be great to know what you think. Please leave you comments at the bottom.
Telling yourself the truth about yourself is one of the hardest things to do. But if you are able to accurately tell the truth about yourself it will be one of the best learning experiences.
Many people tell lies to themselves about why they are overweight, why they don't have any money, and why they don't have any friends. These lies and partial truths keep you from reaching your full potential as a human being.
For many people the lie they tell themselves is about their weight. "I'm only a little overweight." "I'm big boned." These lies keep you from seeing yourself as you truly are, overweight. The same example could be used for smoking, drugs, alcohol, and other addictions like internet pornography.
Sit down with yourself in a quite area and think about where you are in life and why you are there. Is the reason you are not reaching your full potential because you are not telling yourself the truth?
This sit down session with yourself doesn't have to be all bad. You can also use this situation to find examples in your life where you have already overcome obstacles in your life and use that confidence to help yourself overcome your current obstacles.
Telling yourself the truth can be the hardest thing to do, but it will also be the best thing you have ever done for yourself. Do this exercise today to help examine potential growth areas in your life. The sooner you do it the faster you will grow.
