This is an excerpt from Mike Litman's Newsletter - Be inspired to take small steps and get going. Just get started with what you love to do.
Have you seen or heard about Paula Dean?
I was glued as Larry King was interviewing her on his TV
show recently...
She was scared to leave her house for years.
Had trouble with marriage, got divorced.
Was struggling bigtime financially. Bigtime.
At 45 years she had nothing going for her.
At 45 years old she got fed up and said, "What do I enjoy,
what am I good at?" (she said this on the TV show, this is
the question she asked herself) She said, "Well, I enjoy
cooking."
She didn't wait to get it right, she just got it going.
She had $200 to her name. She started making 'bag lunches'
and selling them at businesses locally.
(Google her, there's more to her story and it's amazing.)
Let me fast forward for a second.
Paula Dean is huge. Larry King called her a 'cultural
phenomenon'.
She has one of the highest rated TV shows on the Food
Network.
Her book is a huge best-seller.
Her restaurants are crowded every night.
She's in her 60's and she's shakin' and bakin' at a HUGE
level. What a 'rock star' personality she has.
Listen, ALL of us have this potential. We DO.
Paula started small. She had next to nothing. She went for
it...
Paula loves cooking.
What do you love to do?
Forget about the naysayers.
What do you love to do?
Move in closer. Let me say this to you.
The key is starting small.
Tiny steps... you don't have to get it right, you just have to
get it going.
